Where can I find this military messenger bag everyone seems to have?

Hattie Asked:
I need a simple messenger bag to fill with my documents etc. with a the secure 'across body' strap! Simple enough I know but I can't seem to find it! It's either to small or boyish. A simple military khaki or green would be perfect! but the high street has a pathetic choice!!!
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

do u live close to a t.j.maxx near u? i know it's cheap but they have some really nice bags there.
but since u say everyone has it, add something to it that will make it yours. like a pin or a button or something.

The next chance I get I will test it out. My guess is 7-8.
i think its cool
deff nothing wrong with it
It’s a ‘just in case’ kinda thing, since it fit in the otherwise unused pocket and it added very little weight
I have had really good luck with mixing textile medium with acrylic paints. I've done pants and sweatshirts as well as canvas bags for my daughters. It has stayed on thru many uses, washings and years of use.
You can find the textile medium with the acrylic paints at any craft stores/sections. I often get it al Walmart. Just mix according to the directions on the textile medium.
“Killspencer is a new brand of man-approved bags hand-crafted in Los Angeles. They currently offer three bag styles — duffle/weekender, messenger/briefcase, and backpack — in three different collections. The Repurposed Collection ($400-$450) has bags made from “used in combat” military truck tarps; the Historical Reserve Collection ($500-$550) has bags made from aged coated cotton canvas in olive and khaki; and the Classic Collection ($300-$350) includes bags made from black nylon and white tarpaulin material. All Killspencer bags use military spec hardware, including waterproof zippers and cobra buckles.”
How about this one? -

They are cute and cheap.
The GAP has messenger bags. Have you tried their website? You may be able to find something there. If you don't like what they have you can try ebay or google messenger bags and see what all comes up.
I bet Dexter uses these.

seems like it can easily snag on the way out. does it? id imagine filling the bag can compress the contents against the gun too causing it to get stuck. i know you said the weight pulls it open, but id imagine stuff gets crammed in there and could compress it still.
the marketing, though, is genius. a cheap plastic zipper sounds so much better when you say it is “waterproof” and “MIL-SPEC.”
oh man please get a new cam…
perfect example: page from Jack Spade website lamenting “real” menswear is so hard to find. So because *authenticity* is so hard to find, we created this COMPLETELY FICTIONAL, NON-EXISTENT SPOUSE OF KATE SPADE NAMED “JACK SPADE” to bring you the finest in real imitation authentic stuff. Dude that is Baudrillard writ large.
